Eden's Mullet

I went to bed Friday night knowing full well that Saturday was going to be a crazy hectic kind of day.  You know when you're preparing to host guests at your house, it's clean time.  Not only that, but it was the first time I was having family to our new place and it was Isla's birthday.   Friday evening Eden had found a pair of her kid friendly scissors and I immediately saw her, took them away and said "Now, Eden you're not allowed to use scissors without asking first.  You have to ask Mommy and Daddy before using your scissors.  You never want to use them without asking because they're sharp and could cut you."

Saturday morning I awake to this dreadful sentence.  "Daddy, look!  I cut my hair!"  Christian sprang from the bed to find Eden standing at the foot of our bed looking like the little girl from Chevy Chase's Christmas Vacation!  The pile of hair on the floor was amazing.  "Oh, Eden you know you're not supposed to use scissors without asking.  And it's so short!"  Eden replied with pride "Yeah, that's what haircuts are supposed to be...short!"

I took pictures and then took her to get it fixed.  I'll have to post pictures later, but it's REALLY short.  Like above her chin...and there's still one patch in the back on her crown that she cut to about an inch that kind of alfalfa sprouts.

I could kick myself in the tail for having scissors in my desk drawer in my new home office.  Honestly - didn't even dawn on me.  STUPID Mommy moment, for sure.  All other scissors, knives, sharp objects are put way up high, but for some reason these...I mean what was I thinking?! Clearly, I wasn't.

The new haircut isn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it's SO short.  It was just the thing I needed on Saturday - to take time out of my running around like a banchee woman anyway cleaning and running errands.  So in the middle of all the chaos we had a mullet we had to get rid of.  lol.  One for the scrapbooks, for sure.

Literally about 12 hours before the cut...

The mullet..from the front and truly not showing all the damage. Notice the length all around and the bangs on the right...new bangs, mind you.

The patch on her crown that is only about 1.5 in long! Actually much thicker than I have in my hand.

"Fixed Pics" to come...
