Some recent cuteness

I can't help but brag a little and write it all down, as I know there will come a day in the not so distant future when I'll forget these little things.

Isla...

Isla's newest tricks include pulling out her hairbow.  I've been putting it in a "whale spout" on top of her head (don't laugh), as the child's bangs are so long, but I can't seem to bring myself to cut it as it's just getting a little bit of wave and it's cute in a little whale spout.  She likes to pull out the bow and try feeding it to the dog or tasting it herself or if she's feeling really spunky, pulling it out during meal time and smashing some food into it.

Now that I'm thinking of it, her hair is her newest obsession. She likes to pull it...and then scream in pain.  She likes to stash food in it and seems to be extra fond of soggy cheerios, banana, and yogurt, but has tried a green bean or two.  :)

She's also adoring bath time.  Today she took great delight in splashing big sister in the face with water.  She also is really perfecting her screeching abilities.  She's awfully good at it.

Her all time favorite toy is of course one that's forbidden...a tiny rubber chicken that squeaks.  Why is it forbidden? It's the dog's toy! Despite my efforts to hide it in the dog's crate, she has gotten her arm stuck in the crate twice trying to retrieve it.  She sticks her arm in the crate and overturns the dog's water and food trying to get to it.  The dog has stopped even trying to take it out of her crate, as Isla won't allow her to keep it.  lol

Eden....

This morning she told me "Mama, you be the vet and I'll be the animal doctor".

Another conversation from this morning...(yes we had TWO baths today)

Me: Lay back and wash your hair.

E: I don't want to wash my hair if I don't have to

Me: Mommy says you have to wash your hair, honey

E:  Your name is Cinderella, not Mommy

Me: Gorilla? Well I don't care what you call me, I said you have to wash your hair.

E: Gorilla?!? BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Not Gorilla, Mommy! CINDERELLA!

She just nearly peed in the tub she was laughing so hard at this one, but I really had misheard her.  Give me a break, I had two kids and the bath water running.  lol

Tonight during bedtime she came across a book she "couldn't read" aka...we'd never read it to her and she couldn't recite the storyline.  She told Christian she couldn't read it and when he explained it was because she needed to learn how to read the words so she could read any book, not just the ones Mommy and Daddy read to her.  She said, "Ugh, will you teach me to read, Daddy?"

Christian commenced to spending 45 minutes working on her letters and sounds with her.  :) Really cute.
