I wanna know You like THAT

I Wanna Know You Like That by Anthem Lights

If you're like me, you could have listened to that song a hundred times.  If you're a fan of "contemporary christian music" (sheesh that's such a nerd term), maybe you even sang along to the lyrics and thought to yourself "I wanna know You like that, Lord".  The truth is, I've done just that.  I've sang the song, I've thought that, maybe even said that to the Lord, but never have I truly felt it more than I have recently.  

I've recently encountered a group of people who truly make me say "Lord, I wanna know You like that".  It's a hard feeling to wrap your mind around.  Hard to explain or put into words what I'm talking about.  When you feel love poured out like you've never felt before and find yourself saying "are these people crazy?" and not in that kind of "grab your children and protect them" kind of way, but the "they are soooo weird" kind of way.  The weird that makes you take a 2nd look.  That weird feeling that makes you wanna go back for more.  The good weird.  The wow-weird.  The different in a good way.  

You know what?  When you encounter a people unafraid of what the world thinks, unashamed of God in every way, and remarkably unabashed about loving people, EVERY people, every person...it gets your attention.  And you know what?  It gets God's attention too.  Just like the lyrics say..."Like David did, he lived a life this world cannot forget".  It's like you can't forget what they're doing.  You can't shake the feeling...when you're surrounded by Him, it's easy to spot.  It's easy to spot love in action -- love in His name.  

I dare to say it --- Quest Community Church, I wanna know Him like that!!

I feel so blessed to be seeing not perfect people, but real people follow Him.
