Christmas!

We've had a wonderful Christmas!!  Santa brought Eden a castle (Disney dollhouse complete with princesses that you can change their clothes), an art desk, and a portable dvd player.  Isla got an exersaucer, a glow seahorse, and clothes.  I think the art desk was the big hit, despite the fact that was was ever so sold on getting this castle.  It was the coveted item for sure and whenever asked "what do you want santa to bring you?" she'd reply "a castle".  She'd seen the commercials on tv and I think the excitement was there on Christmas morning, but now the princesses themselves (along with their clothing) seem to be more entertaining.  Ah well.  :0)

Isla LOVES her exersaucer.  At first, I'm pretty sure she thought we might be putting her in a torture chamber.  She slumped into it and looked pathetically unaware of what she was supposed to do in this "contraption".  It didn't take her long though and now that she realizes she can stand up in it, she's tickled pink about it.  She'll sit in it for a while and play and I honestly don't know how I lived without one with Eden!  Eden pinched her finger (on accident) in one of the toys on it this morning, but otherwise it seems to be a big hit.

The business bought a Wii for the family and since then Daddy and Mommy have been quite smitten.  During the holidays when most of our tv shows aren't running, it's been nice to sit down together after the girls are in bed and play games.   We got the wii fit too, though I'm not sure how fit we'll get with it....as we haven't yet been good about doing it every day.  ha!  Just like everything else, I suppose.

Both girls are napping and the house is semi clean.  Can't complain.  I'm having the hankering to go out and shop, but I might go out later with Leslie or have her over here.  We've got gift cards and money burning a hole in our pockets.  Anyone that knows me, knows I can't simply just let them be for long.

I can't think of any funny stories, except that Eden seems to have re-learned how to cross her eyes.  She'll come up to you at random smiling from ear to ear, looking somewhat mentally challenged and laughing hysterically with her eyes crossed.  Not sure where that has come from.

She's enjoying Gail's - the new Day Care Center that she's going to .  It's really more like a preschool with only 3-5 year olds there.  She's the youngest, but she's very used to that.  She loves being around older kids.

Just this morning I was looking at her in one of her new Christmas outfits, a black outfit.  She had put her brown shoes on all by herself...on the wrong feet of course.  Her hair was thrown back in a pony tail, as Mommy had done it haphazardly when she requested it in the middle of cleaning.  She looked so grown up.  She's growing way too fast and when I think that in just a few short years she'll be starting Kingergarten, it really is sad.  How do you make time slow down?  Stop? Pause?  Some days I wonder if she'll ever do some things like listen and put her shoes on the right feet, but then I think she's only two.  Holy Crap, she's two.  Yeah...she'll be 3 in March.  Wow.  Where does time go?

I was shopping the other night and she had pleaded to go with me, so she rode in the grocery cart because we were unable to find another little cart for  her to push.  We goofed off the whole time and were singing silly made up songs.  I'm sure people passing thought we were crazy because we were definitely in our own little world.  Those are the moments I want to cherish forever.

Or this morning when we were all cleaning  house and I was listening to my new Francesca Battestelli CD and we walk into the kitchen to find her dancing.  When caught she looked a little embarrassed until she saw our smiles and then she really charged up and started dancing more.  She ended with a twirl and saying "Ugh dat made me bizy".  LOL
