Updates Updates Updates!

Where do I start?

Our house is for sale, our business is doing well, and the entire house has had the sickies! Eden and Isla both had a chest x-ray to determine whether they had pnemonia or not.  No pneumonia, but both girls had an upper respiratory infection.  Eden also had an ear infection and Isla was given Albuterol through a nebulizer, breathing machine.  After several days, it didn't seem like Isla was doing much better, so we took her back.  Doctor said all was well, but she still sounds so congested.  She's also teething horribly.  She acts as if she might gnaw her fingers off at any given moment.

She refuses any pacifier and looks at me as if I'm trying to give her rat poison if I suggest it! lol Instead, she's developed a fondness for her middle and ring finger.  For some reason sucking on these two fingers is better than a thumb or paci.  She's awfully adorable when she does it and I've decided I must get a pic soon.

As soon as her congestion clears up, we're gonna be trying solids!  She's begun to look at food in awe and even lunge towards some things if she they tickle her fancy, so once we get her cleared up, we'll try rice cereal.  We'll send a memo to Daddy to let him know to hurry up and put her high chair together! lol

Isla will be 6 months on January 23rd and I could cry about it.  Where does time go?!  I feel like I'm going to blink and she'll be 1.  She's smiling and cooing and giggling and really developing a little personality.  She's starting to form muscles that will help her sit up in the coming month or so and I'm pretty sure all this gnawing will result in a tooth. For her sake and ours, we hope it's sooner rather than later!

On a sad note, I can't seem to pull myself away from photos and news updates of the Earthquake in Haiti.  It's so terribly sad.  It really makes me want to cry thinking about it.  The country wasn't in good shape before and now this?  I feel so sorry for them.  Our church does a lot of mission trips there and we will certainly be giving to our church, as they have also set up a relief fund.  It's very sad and scary.  Life's short...and in the long run, this is not our home.  What's that verse? Don't store up your treasures here on earth.  Store them in heaven!
