Hey, guess what?!

Thursday morning Eden was sent home with diarrhea.  Grandy rescued her (upon her request, by the way) and the princess spent the day in royal rest in her castle (AKA: Mom's house!).  She didn't get sick again and seemed to be feeling fine on Friday morning, but by then Christian didn't feel well.  They have a 24 hour rule at her day care center and so Christian decided to stay home with her in the morning until she could go back.  By the time she could go back, he found himself tied to throne of porcelain.  The bug hit me in the form of vomiting Friday night, but it was short-lived and we were all feeling well and were off to church Sunday morning.

We must have been feeling extra spunky with the absence of our bug, as we decided on China Buffet for lunch after church.  What happened next only happens to us...China Buffet will never be the same.

We opened the door of the small Versailles China Buffet and were greeted with warmth as the smell of fried deliciousness filled our noses.  The restaurant was quiet, as we could hear the light oriental music playing in the background as the hostess selected our seats.  As she showed us to a lovely table, we noticed Miss Kristi (our long-time beloved sitter) and some family and friends (some of whom we'd never met) sitting in the table next to us.  They had already gotten their meals and seemed to be enjoying their food.  We of course said hello and began to de-robe from our winter apparel.  Christian and I were getting all the coats hung up when Eden excitedly began talking to Kristi.  This isn't unusual and Kristi seemed interested in talking to her, so we carried on in situating Isla and preparing the table.  I could hear Eden begin to stumble over her words as she sometimes did when she really wanted to tell a story, but smiled as I went about my merry way.  I wasn't looking at her, but could hear clearly what she was saying, "Hi Miss Kristi!" she said with vigor.  "Hey, guess what?!"  Kristi seemed pleased that she was so eager to tell her something and of course obliged with "what?"  Then began the downward spiral..."Hey, so the udder day.  Um, yesterday. Earlier, yesterday, I...um...I had DIARRHEA!"  It wasn't in a quite voice.  It was a 3 year old voice and a 3 year old trying to tell a dramatic story, at that.

The table, and quite frankly what seemed like the entire restaurant, erupted into laughter.  Christian and I staggered and stumbled around as we tried to coax Eden to silence and get her seated at the table.  Our faces had to be red, as we both felt like crawling under the table. I apologized to the table and suggested to Eden that we not talk about bathroom topics while people are eating.

There didn't seem to be any gagging or vomiting from the table, for which we were relieved.  Eden seemed confused at all the all the laughter and thankfully didn't elaborate anymore to seek the laughter again.  The rest of our meal went without event, but boy will we remember THAT.  I just had to come and blog so that one day we can tell Eden's first date or something. lol
