Little Old Lady Eden...

Four year olds can ask some of the most interesting and through provoking questions.  It's part of the fun of this stage in their little lives.  Sometimes, the funny little conversations that take place are far too precious to pass up.

Lately, she's been interested in the passage of time and has remarked a couple of times this week to us that something was "really old...from the 50's".  Sadly, she won't stop there - she's even reported something was "really old...from the 80's".  Watch it, kiddo.  Don't you know your parents are from the 80's?!  lol

I assume that her obsession or thoughts on the passage of time and how to wrap her little mind around it was what prompted some of her thoughts during this conversation.  Christian reported to me that I simply had to record it.  Some of the details have been summarized based on the account from both Christian and Eden.

<traveling in the car>
Christian can't recall the exact details of how the subject came up, but the memorable part started out here...

Eden: Daddy, when was God born?
Christian: Well, He wasn't born.  He's always been there and He'll never die.  He is.
Eden:  He'll never die?  I don't want to die either.  I want to go to heaven with Granny Nila and all the old people.
Christian: Well, remember - we talked about how you can ask Jesus into your heart and then you when you die, you'll go to heaven to be with God.
Eden: I think when I am an old lady I don't want to die.  I think I want to go to heaven to be Mrs. God.
Christian: *laughter* Mrs. God?!

The only thing funnier than Christian told the story was Eden wanting to re-tell the story and laughing hysterically at herself.  Don't worry - we did try explaining in a four-year-old understanding that God doesn't need or desire a wife.  haha  She didn't seem too disappointed, so long as we explained again the simple way she CAN go to heaven!

I love her! :)
