Nobody's Perfect

Trying to explain Jesus' perfection to a 4 year old is quite difficult.  It's come up quite often as we've used Jesus' behavior as an example and try to teach Eden that we should use kind words, etc.  Today we were having a discussion post disciplinary action.  We had the following conversation, which was too priceless not to blog;

Me: We need to try and be like Jesus with our words and actions.  It's hard to do all the time.  Even Mommy & Daddy have trouble.  You know that Mommy and Daddy aren't perfect.  Nobody's perfect like Jesus was, but so long as we're trying - God is pleased with us.  It makes his heart happy.

Eden: Nobody's perfect?

Me: No, nobody's perfect

Eden: Except Joyce

Me: Huh? (thinking I hadn't heard her)

Eden: Joyce.  Except Joyce.

I had to turn my head to contain my laughter in the midst of this serious conversation.  I smiled, but looked back at her to a serious faced-four year old.

Eden: Joyce seems perfect

"Oh there will be a conversation with Grandy later on this" I thought to myself.

To explain, Eden has often interrupted Grandy's (my mom) quiet time in the mornings.  Many times, Grandy is found listening to or watching a Joyce Meyer tidbit or show.  For those that don't know, she's a popular Christian writer/philanthropist.  Apparently, her exposure has been "perfection".  Bahahahahahaha
