Three Years Old...

E is 3.5 years old.  She'll be 4 at the end of March and the last few weeks, nay, MONTHS have been tough.  To begin with - the poor kid is EXACTLY my mini-me when it comes to personality.  She might look like her handsome Daddy (thank goodness!), but she is me 'to a tee' personality-wise.  If I didn't know any better, I would swear that Dr. Dobson himself had been around her when writing "The Strong Willed Child".  The loveliness about her is that she's outgoing, funny, courageous, curious, and extremely friendly.  Due to this, she's also sometimes not so lovely and can be bossy, persistent (ok, so this can be good too), argumentative, and independent (again, CAN be good).

Let me give you an example of a conversation we had today.

I'm sitting at the kitchen table feeding Isla.

Me: One last bite, Isla.  Mmmm.  It's good!  Yummy! Allllllll gone.
Eden: All-e-all. Allllllll-e-all.  It's all gone, Isla *Doing her best baby voice*

pause

Eden: Hey!  Mama, All-e-all...ALL-E-alllllllll. Ah ah ah allll-e-allllll.  That begins with O!
Me: Um, well...All gone...all begins with A.
Eden: No it doesn't.
Me: Yeah, baby.  Listen All.  Allll.  Ah All.  That begins with A.
Eden: Nooo.  It begins with O.  I'm not even kidding ya'.  It really does.
Me: Eden, it really does begin with A.  Listen again...
Now interrupting me Eden: No.  It begins with O.  whine It really really does, Mama.

I surrendered to the conversation and decided it wasn't a battle I wanted to pick and changed the subject.

Just now, I began to write another anecdote and decided that I'd save it.  I'll write down only the cute and funny ones.  Haha.  The other one might not be soo cute and it's still raw enough today to be 'not-so-funny'.

I take myself entirely too seriously.
