Everyone has to start somewhere

I went to the dentist today to get a small filling.  Thank goodness it was quite smaller than the THREE I had to have done a few weeks ago.  Immediately upon my recline in the chair, I was sprayed in the face with water.  Not a little bit, not even.  It was like a small shower.  Thankfully I happened to be wearing my glasses or I do believe I would have had mascara running down my face.  During the course of the appointment I was sprayed in the ear, had water dripped down my face, up my nose, and on my shirt.  The poor dental assistant was SO nervous.  You could tell she was either brand new or training.  I felt so sorry for her and I could tell she was trying, but the more she messed up, the more the dentist became irritated and thus created a vicious cycle.

It wasn't as if the dentist was overtly mean, but I was the last appt of the day and you could tell she was concerned about the girl's lack of knowledge or experience.

I left feeling a little like I should have made an effort to say "It's OK everyone has to start somewhere".
