Graham Crackers
09.03.2009

I was scolded this morning by Eden. "You throwed away my graham crackers, Mommy." In fact, she was right. The half package of opened graham crackers that had hung out on the kitchen island all week looked to me to be stale. I was informed by Daddy that "she likes em' that way". I'm not sure if I should be glad they found some sort of weird bonding or concerned that she prefers stale food. On second thought, maybe I'm saddened, as the poor child didn't have fresh ones if she wanted them! lol

America's Got Talent
09.03.2009

America's Got Talent happens to be one of our favorite tv shows. Eden actually enjoys watching it with us, as she likes watching the dancers. Tonight we were watching an episode that we had recorded and a set of five women came on dancing. The cutest conversation ensued...
Eden: I like those dancers, Daddy
Christian: Yeah, they're pretty good, huh. (Because of her recent facination with trophies seen in Jane's lobby) Hey they could win a trophy.
Eden: No, they're not ballerinas!
We tried explaining to her that you can win a trophy for lots of things, not just being 'a ballerina'. lol Our efforts were futile. I guess we'll have to convince her down the road. :)

Dance Class!
09.02.2009

Some of you may have read on facebook that Eden began dance class at Jane's School of Dance last Friday. To be only a 30 minute class, it was such a huge milestone for Miss Eden. For starters, she's been excited about the class since June. You know as a Mom when you tell your 2.5 year old that you're going to start dance class, you don't necessarily think she'll remember months later. At the beginning of August, she was still asking every few days when her dance class would begin. As mommy, my goal was for them to teach her how to do something other than twirl around and bust her nose on the hardwood floor and if we learn something else...BONUS! lol
So last Friday, we dressed my little princess in her solid black leotard, light pink tights, and light pink ballet shoes and remembered to have her hair pulled back, without a bow. (yes, that's how she's specifically supposed to be dressed!) As we were getting dressed she kept saying, "Mama I'm so excited to dance!" Once I had the final pigtail tightened, she stood before me looking at herself (awfully pleased) on the bathroom counter. All 34+ inches of her. I began to tear up a bit. Where was my baby?! I told her I was proud of her and she gave me that goofy "I know I'm cute" grin. lol
When we got to the lobby of Jane's she jumped right into playing with the toys in the lobby with the other kids. Then the teacher came out to the lobby and said "OK, who's ready to dance?" I got up and took her by the hand and started walking towards the room. Eden clearly wanted to run, as she was pulling my hand all the way. We got to the door of the studio room and she was tugging on my fingers to come in with her. I knealt down and said "Now remember, Mommy and Daddy are going to wait out here while you go in and dance." I admit, I was brushing back the tears at this point. (I'm such a sap) She let go of my hand, shrugged her shoulders, and said "OK". Then she turned and ran into the studio. The teacher was telling them to find a seat on the floor and she did so promptly. She didn't even seem to notice I was still standing in the doorway nor did the cries of the not-so ready little girls seem to phase her. I returned to Christian in the lobby, holding back tears, as it seemed I was the only Mommy that was having such an emotional experience. Must have been the post pregnancy hormones...right?
When the class came out, she came running to us with excitement and a big smile on her face. Later, at home when we asked what she learned in class she said "to stomp my feet and hang on the rails". I figure that's probably accurate with 20+ 2-3 year olds and only 30 minutes! Ha!
Hopefully this week will go just as well and we can at least say this was a preparation for Mommy and preschool next year!
Just before dance class!

Isla's 1st Road Trip!
08.24.2009

Today was Isla’s first trip to Wildie, to Mimi and Poppy’s house…Christian’s parents. J BOY what a day! You would think making the hour and 15 minute drive wouldn’t be that bad…let’s just say we all got there in one piece without Christian and I tearing each other apart. Sometimes it’s hard to remember we’re on the same team! Ha!
Well it’s 1:00am and I’m ready for bed and Daddy has just finished feeding our littlest blessing. Lights out!!

Grandma's Emergency?!
08.22.2009

In spirit of keeping with the most important of reasons to start this blog...I am posting today's Eden funny.
Eden on the phone with Daddy
Eden: Hi, Daddy!
Christian: Hi, baby!
Eden: Are you gonna come for Grandma's emergency?
Christian: (Not really understanding what she'd said) Um...yeah
Eden: You have to hurry for Grandma's emergency, OK?
Christian: OK, Honey (again, really only hearing the OK part of the conversation)
Eden: (now screaming in the phone) Emergency! Grandma's emergency!
(The sound of the phone hanging up)
Eden: Hmmph! He hanged up, Mommy!

Purposeful Posting!
08.22.2009

We have started this blog to preserve, most importantly the precious words of our baby girls, but also to share with family and friends about all the excitement that goes on in the Parsons' Household! Enjoy!
