Dear Daisy,
I love you dearly, sweet little fur-child of mine. I want you to know that I do love you even if you do often leave tiny presents for me in the floor. Yes, I am appreciative that you've learned to do #1 outside and you're even clever enough to ring the bell to let us know. I enjoy our night-time cuddles and don't mind that you prefer Daddy's side of the bed. :0)
I am glad your taste buds have matured and you no longer have an affection for my shoes. I would like you to try and curb your appetite for paper products. Between you and Isla, no kleenex goes unnoticed!
Thank you for getting along so well with Eden and Isla lately. You do a wonderful job at your stern growl to let Eden know that you mean business. I'm sorry that you're small enough for her to pick up. Oh and I'd like to apologize for a few other things. Often, when I find that Eden has put you in an odd spot (aka her purse), I've been known to run for the camera instead of to your rescue. I'm glad your so kind and patient with us, as I just can't help myself.
You're a sweet girl, you know. You've never bitten Eden and Isla and I'm quite certain that they've deserved a bite or two on occasion! I can tell you love them and that warms my heart. You're a smart cookie and can tell that Isla is a baby, as you tolerate more from her and rarely give her even as much as a growl. I hope that your love for her is sincere and not just strictly food related. I've seen the way she tosses snacks over the gate to you from the living room to the kitchen when I've purposely gated you off from her so she can snack "in peace". You've trained her well, as I've also heard her calling you from her high chair and dropping bits off the edge. Just know, I'm watching you and don't get used to me looking the other way. One of these days I may get interested in sweeping and mopping the floor on my own and then I might just not need your help, little missy.
I will say, I do appreciate your help in being a watch dog. You're very good at alerting us when someone is here. You've been working so hard though lately, I'd really like to reward you. So from now on, you don't have to bark at people walking by our house within a mile radius. You can narrow it down to just 10 feet from the door, how about? Oh, and how about instead of using all that energy on barking at the door bell, you can just growl? I'm thinking of you here, it must be exhausting and I see how hard you work. I appreciate all you do and well, as you age (you're 7 in dog years now, remember) you'll want to reserve your energy for other things.
Know that I enjoy having you by my side and don't mind when you follow me around. I do wish you'd leave me a little privacy when it comes to the bathroom and yes, that means you can't push open the door when it's pulled to. Oh, and give the dirty laundry a rest. Tiny teeth holes aren't easy to repair. :)
Dearest Daisy, I love you. You're a part of our family and I can't imagine what we'd do without you! I'm delighted that you joined us, almost a year ago, for Eden's 3rd birthday! We love you, Daisy Ballerina Parsons. OH and you're welcome for not allowing Eden to name you Stripedy.
Love,
Mom (AKA Pooper scooper, warm lap, protector, bather, and vet visit chauffeur)
